Loveisnotabuse installs countertops for homeowners across Asheville, North Carolina and Buncombe County. We work in quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, soapstone, butcher block, and solid surface, and we take the long view on all of them.

The countertop trade has a habit of going quiet after the invoice clears. A surface gets installed, nobody explains how to look after it, and the homeowner finds out the hard way that their stone needed something. We think the install is the start of the relationship rather than the end of it, so every job leaves with a written warranty and a care card, and natural stone customers go onto a reseal rotation where we call them when they are due.

What We Believe About Materials

• No surface is best. Quartz, granite, and marble are trade offs, not a ranking. The right one depends on how you cook, how much maintenance you will genuinely do, and what you want the room to look like in ten years.
• Honesty beats the upsell. If the material you want will not survive your household, we will say so before you buy it, not after.
• Most damage is preventable. Etching, staining, and failed seams almost always trace back to something nobody explained.
• Repair before replace. Chips and seams are frequently fixable in place. We will tell you when replacement is genuinely the answer and when it is not.

Older Homes, Heavier Stone

Asheville has a lot of houses with original cabinetry that was never designed to carry three centimeter granite. We check the cabinet boxes during the measure and flag anything that needs bracing or a plywood deck before we set stone on it. It is a small cost at the right moment and a serious problem at the wrong one.
