Quartz Installation

Quartz Countertop Installation in Asheville

When a customer tells us they want a surface they will never have to think about again, we point them at quartz. Engineered quartz is ground natural quartz bound in resin, which makes it non porous, dimensionally consistent, and effectively maintenance free.

Why It Suits a Busy House

Because there are no pores, there is nothing to seal and nothing for red wine, oil, or coffee to soak into. Spills sit on the surface until you wipe them. It resists scratching well, holds its color, and because it is manufactured to a specification rather than quarried, a given color stays consistent from batch to batch. That last point matters more than people realize for a phased renovation or a repair years later.

The Two Real Limitations

Heat is the first. The resin binder softens well below the temperature of a pan straight off the burner, and a bad enough contact leaves a permanent dull mark. Use a trivet. Every quartz manufacturer says this and most homeowners find out anyway.

Ultraviolet light is the second. The same resin yellows in sustained direct sun, which is why quartz is an indoor material. For a covered porch or an outdoor kitchen we will steer you to granite or quartzite instead.

Seams and Long Runs

Consistent pattern makes quartz the easiest material to seam invisibly, which is a genuine advantage in the long counter runs common in Asheville kitchens. We plan seam placement during the template, usually at a sink or a corner, and match the pattern across it.
